About Maria Najera

My career chose me. 

I grew up in the Bay Area and my dream was always to own my own home. I wished of having the freedom of doing what ever I wanted, like most kids. But unlike most kids, I didn't rebel, I was intentional. I worked throughout high school and when I graduated I attended college. I took business courses then went after a job that would allow me to purchase my first home. My plan worked! Two years after graduating high school, at 20 years old, I purchased my first home! Of course I couldn't afford the Bay Area, so I moved to San Joaquin County. It still happened so fast I almost couldn't believe it.  I was raised by a single mom and had no financial assistance from family, I used the first time homeowner program.  It was that easy! My Real Estate Agent was so proud of me she even cried when giving me the keys, we are still great friends. 

During the pandemic, my boyfriend at the time and I were blessed to be essential workers. Regardless of all of the crazy going on, we decided to get married and move up in house! Things were going so well for us, and we know for a fact that our life would not be as stable and comforting as it is if I had not made it my mission to buy a house young. 

I started thinking about changing my career (I was a dispatcher/customer service rep.) I wanted to do something meaningful, something that changed peoples' lives forever. It was a no brainer, I wanted to be like the people who made the biggest impact in my life and that included my Real Estate Agents and my Lenders. I'm great with numbers so I naturally gravitated towards becoming a Lender. 

I took the licensing course, passed the National Exam, got licensed and found a great direct lender to work for. Then, I switched over to Groves Capital, a broker.
